Dumb Stuff it's fun to find out What is it like to be a student at HLS?As background, note that HLS demands basically nothing of students. Class is never mandatory, extracurriculars are not mandatory, and you'll be lucky if any faculty or staff member knows your name on graduation day. Of course, you can put more effort in, but since you'll get a big law job anyway, you don't really have to. This means that students can pretty much do what they want, and there really isn't a common HLS experience. · Attends most classes, takes studying for finals pretty seriously, and spends a lot of time studying notwithstanding pretty clear evidence that study time is basically uncorrelated with grades. · Most socializing done with other law students; tends not to go out during the week or at all during exams. Still reasonably likely to attend bar review, halloween party, other HLS events. |
